GOYAZITE Keyes Mine, Orange, NH
6 mm field of view. Goyazite crystals to 0.8 mm on fairfieldite/messelite, (the steep white rhombs in the background).

Species:           GOYAZITE
Locality:         Keyes Mine, Orange, NH
Specimen Size: 6 mm field of view. Goyazite crystals to 0.8 mm on fairfieldite/messelite, (the steep white rhombs in the background).

Notes: Another view from above specimen.
The rough surface of many pseudo-cubic goyazite crystals are actually an array of lustrous aligned faces that strongly reflect light at the right incident angle. This affect is present on two of the small crystals on this photograph.
